The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a mandatory document for each building or building unit in Greece, which captures the energy of the performance in accordance with the Regulation of Energy Performance of Buildings (KENAK). It is the energy "identity" of the property and it is necessary in cases of sale, lease, or completion of new construction.
What is EEC?
The EEC evaluate the energy consumption of the building and the ranks in energy class, from A (very efficient) to H (low performance).
Valid for ten years, unless a major renovation, so it requires a new version.
Includes suggestions for improving energy efficiency and reducing energy costs.
When required version EEC?
At the time of sale or transfer of property.
New lease contracts for buildings exceeding 50 sq.m.
After the completion of the new construction or renovation.
From 1/1/2016, mandatory for buildings with a useful surface area of under 50 sq.m.
What is the procedure of issue;
The owner instructs in a certified energy inspector the inspection of the building.
The inspector prepares the energy study and adopt the EEC.
The EPC is registered online in the official registry and the registration number must be stated in contracts, and ads.
